Why Self-Care Isn't Selfish
There's so much talk about self-care and well-being, especially with the current lockdown situation returning to parts of Victoria.
But what does self-care actually look like?
Ask 100 different people, and you'll probably get 100 different ideas.
I recently created a video for the Victorian Rural Women's Network Country Cuppa event - this year of course it was all online, but that provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many rural women throughout the state. Catch the video below.
Cynthia's 6 C's of Self-Care

1. Conditions
Be mindful that we are all operating in different conditions and to run your own race rather than compare yourself to others.
2. Connection
Connect in with yourself and with others.
3. Change
We are in a period of sustained change which takes a lot of energy to navigate (so don't be surprised if you're feeling exhausted at times).
4. Compassion
Have compassion for yourself and be kind to others.
5. Control
Focus on what you can control.
6. Consent
Give yourself permission (consent) to look after yourself - we are often our own worst enemies when it comes to self-care.
BONUS: Charge
Be mindful of how to charge your own battery - what gives you energy? What drains you?
...and finally Cha Cha Cha - don't forget to have fun!
Cheers
